Hi all,

One particular Deception I love is the Yabby. If any LL members feel like posting their photos of these beautiful old lures I would love to see them.

Cheers,

Danny.

I'll start off with a couple of nice old series 3 Yabbies.

Cheers,

Danny.

Rob, one of each

The foreground Yabby has the longer 40mm bib, and as you've said before is typified by the off centre iris. The ringed Yabby in the background has the shorter 35mm bib and centred iris. What's interesting is they both have the same sized bib overall, but the later of the series 3 has a deeper bib slot, taking an extra 5mm out of the equation and reducing it's overall length.

Cheers,

Danny.

Danny, sorry but you clearly have Deceptionitis which unfortunately has no known cure.

Let me find a few Yabby pics to ease your affliction

Cheers

Believe the Deception Yabby is a smidgen rarer than people think.

Trusting Paul's memory there were only 500 of this shape made, less attrition through snags since the last one was made in 1994.

In my view one of the most collectible of all of the Deceptions made and well worth the current going price Wink

Here's a couple more I've been very lucky to pick up externally from this site over the last few weeks. Once again a shorter bibbed and longer bibbed version, determined through the positioning of the pupil within the iris.

Cheers,

Danny.

Danny, simply awesome Tongue

That green one is the first of 3 variations in that shape - you will note it has a much thicker body where the bib connects to the body.

My favourite Deception model - I have a couple of special ones I will take a pic for you Thumbs Up

Cheers

Danny, here are some specials .... a Windemere '93 Yabby, the 'Last One Ever Made 26/6/94' and the only nude Yabby which has an original matching nude Shrimp.

Cheers

Rob

I got one of those Fat Nobby Bum Yabbies, but it had a Dent under the Bib and sent it to Paul to fix and re paint for me.   Or is this not the Yabbies you guys are talking about.

Tony, the Fat Nobby Bum one would possibly be the very first series and rarer than these - do you have a picture Tongue

Was it the same body shape as the ones in the Collector Series that Paul did in 2012 Question

I reckon Danny would be keen to see one of those Wink

Rob they are so cool thanks for showing them. Mine are all pretty battle hardened, but geez they look schmick when they're near mint

Any idea if he had Windemere editions in his series 2?

Cheers,

Danny.

Hi Tony.

Mate definitely myself and I'm sure any other Deception enthusiasts lurking in the shadows would also be keen to see a photo of the lure you just described.

Cheers,

Danny.

Danny, don't think there were other Windemere Yabby's other than the '93, but there is a '95 Mulwala Cherax and a '96 Mulwala Megaboomer around.

There were also '93, '94, '95 and '97 Windemere Shrimp and I suspect '96 or '98 although I don't have one .... do have spare '94's to trade for a '96 or '98 though Big smile

There is also a Leg '97 Nipper ....

Must be other 'year' Deceptions that I'm not aware of  .... Ermm perhaps a separate topic on it's own LOL

Cheers
