Hi Debbie,
Was luck enough to spend half a day with Barry before his passing (talking reels etc).
He also made big Jew lures.
He had one on the wall that he caught a massive jew on (think around 30kg).Was going to make me some of his jew lures but his health got in the way.
Great guy with enormous fishing history.
He wanted to convert me to bass fishing. I resisted, though when he mentioned 3kg plus bass I was tempted.

Cant find that post Deb. Can you post the link?

I also was lucky enough to find Barry one day when asking around about local lures in Iluka. I was directed to his house at Woomba near the Iluka hwy turnoff and spent a couple of houses listening to his history and stories. I did post some pics up years ago bit not sure if on here or elsewhere. Will have to find them.

Found it, I had it under Barry not Barrie. Can anyone confirm the spelling as we should have it correct on the site.

Thanks Deb and Alistair, a very interesting read, a man before his time, sad to hear of his passing.

Just to clarify the spelling of his name, it's Barrie, as can be seen on the spine of the smaller lure in the second photo.

Regards,
Col
