The Creek Freak is mainly built for snag bashing. The most popular size is the 90mm version however the 80mm model is getting some good fish too.
Here are a couple of recent pics: |

A mate of mine, Brad had never caught a jack, and was happy to get this little guy even though he was undersize.

I have no idea at all how those Jacks are. But I really think thy are an awesome fish to look at. Looks like thy are built to slammer into the bait, and would pull like a small train.
The Barra I have admired since the first time I saw one in Rex hunts fishing shows we cud see here in DK. many years ago on Discovery cannel. Thanks fore sharing

Weipa trip Easter 2015.
Ganesy, his son Kurt and I jigged up some nice Fingermark on the shoals then Ganesy suggested we troll some DJR lures. I missed out, but Ganesy came up trumps on a Creek freak with this 66cm fish. Good on ya Steve! |

Hey Steiny,
Nice fish and great lures. I see some with a fair amount of teeth marks on them. Well done! I'm such a newbie to lure making but have got the bug. So I have to ask... What do you mean by stump bashing? Is the lure designed to be resistant to snagging? If so, what design features help it achieve this? Thanks for any help mate. Cheers, Ces. |

Hi Ces,
By snag bashing I simply meant throwing diving lures into the mangrove snags, hoping for a jack or a barra. Unfortunately the lures are not resistant to snagging (wish they were) as they do get caught up in the stilt roots of the mangroves from time to time. Good luck with the lure making and thanks for your comments. |

Awesome Steiny! That's got to be one of the ultimate tests for a lure - attach it to a mack. Very nice paint on those lures. Well done.
