Thanks Mick, Ben and Darren
I've read the bio, great read I take it that 31 is a colour scheme and W is Wild River, however still curious as to the significance of 7. Doesn't seem to equate to a measurement, I wonder if it's a model? Any info much appreciated.
Cheers Steve

Steve , I have one with the lettering W7.10 that I purchased from the Lure Shop in Cooktown in 88/89 so it could have been made by John in 87 . Very nice lure like yours, just different colours

They're few and far between unfortunately, strange where and when they turn up.

Steve, have one here I'll show you on your next visit. Same shape, but in yellow/black bars, numbered W7.12 hope this helps. Maybe the W7 stands for the shape and the 12 for colour, what do you think?

Steve, you talk about 'strange where they turn up'. Many moons ago I found a timber Whitty's Wompa in a Nightcliff secondhand shop, go figure Confused.

Hi Chris
Is your 5 the same shape as the 7? Pics would be good. I'm not sure what they're worth. For that matter, does anyone else have WR lures with lettering, pics would be good, maybe we can collectively work this out

Hey Mick
Thanks, I'm thinking the 5 is the shape, NQ Fish sent me a pic of a W.5.12 yesterday, same profile and the 12 lines up with the colour chart in Barry's earlier post. It would be good to see more lures with lettering and maybe we can all develop a list.
Cheers Steve

Sorry Steve, now I'm going to throw a spanner into the works. Mick's yellow/black bars identical to mine, W7 bit good, but mine then has 12 where Mick's says 3 LOL.

Steve's is a yellow back, Seaweeds is Black. Two different colours, which probably explains the different codes.

Hi Tony
So does your have a yellow back or black back? I was looking at John's colour chart and that's the only difference I could see in the colour pattern. I'll give you a hoy over the next couple of weeks and drop around for a cleansing ale and a bit of lure show and tell if you're free

Black back mate, Steiny knew as he traded it to me for another Wildriver he wanted.
Come around any time, may have some new stuff to show you.

Hi Seaweed
Ah... That explains it all, shame we don't have a pic of John's second colour code board, mine is a 31 and the first board pictured only goes up to 23, it would be great to see the full range.
Cheers Steve

Picked these up the other day, just trying to age them?
A couple have no writing underneath at all could these be really early ones as explained in the bio?
