This was my one and only go at the lacework, must try another one day, not a patch on Paul's Deceptions of course, but in my defence he had a lot more practice LOL

.

Carl, that is pretty special, would love to see the side shot. From the top it looks kinda Kad / Bunyip inspired.

The boys pretty have much covered it, the original lace was pilfered from the hem of some curtains of a house we were renting, bet the next person wondered what sick puppy hacked up the back of the curtains LOL The stocking stuff is as close as you will get to what I used, but yes it is pretty stretchy and moves around a little on you. The other thing is low pressure through the gun, very thin paint so it dries super quick, with a double action gun use just the air all over the lure to accelerate the dry time, and have fun Thumbs Up cheers Paul.

G,day Paul.

Great of you to add your input to this topic. Thank you very much. I can only dream of producing finishes the quality of yours. This site is an amazing resource and shows how passionate lure makers are about their craft. The fact that people will openly give advice on how some of these amazing finishes are created just speaks volumes about that passion.

Thank you to everyone who provided advice. I managed to find a pair of leggings with a similar style of lace pattern and below is my first attempt. I have ordered some better quality stuff (thanks to Danny) and will post again when I receive it and do something special with it.

Many thanks again.

Rob.

Rob in this thread you've managed to post 2 of the 3 lures in the most recent Deception sketch - (although the Scampi above is a different colour). Can you find the third from the picture in your collection? I have a feeling it might be a little rarer than some think.

Cheers,

Danny.

I was stoked to receive this little surface lure in the mail a couple of weeks ago. Rob (Charger) has done a brilliant job not only with the 3D printed shape, but with his first attempts at that Kneller lace pattern that has become very popular over the last year or two with a couple of different makers. Beautiful work. Thanks Rob (Charger).

Cheers,

Danny.

Thanks Danny and Pete for the compliments.

I'm really glad you like it Danny. I am loving the lace pattern and I wouldn't have been able to find it without your help. Have done a few more now and am quite happy with the finish. If you get a fish on it please post up a picture.

Regards,
Rob.

I know I am a bit slow on this post as only fairly new but those lures are unbelievable ,going to try for sure that pattern ,but on materials ,I wqas in an old second hand lifeline shop the other week and as it is very old gear is stocked there as well as new,and in the house section is near new very old lace and patterned curtains . these would be ok to use I think  as they had some high quality ones there and cheap ,havnt even looked in clothing section
