I'm heading to the Fly River in the last week of October 2016 in pursuit of the PNG Black Bass.
I've already got a selection of Jolls Bounty Hunters, Salmo Bullheads and Halco 150 deep divers but am keen to know of any other lure/colour combinations anyone who has fished there can suggest.
Any info will be gratefully received.

Take some RMG Poltergeists as well, green or the mullet colour. Sometimes the fish will take a smaller lure at the right depth when they are knocking back larger offerings.
Colours - my preference s for a lure with contrst is black stripes or the bleeding mullet style with darker stripes over a lighet background. Baitfish I saw were green backed with silver belly.
the fish aren't art critics

Salmo's seem to get bit when the bite is hard to get...
But be prepared for loads of this:

They don't seem to be much good for numbers of fish.

Note that this pic belongs to a mate of mine, I've not fished up there yet, I'm soaking it all in in preparation for (hopefully) next year.  This is just what I've gathered from all the reports and reviews I've seen.
Saying that - the wire seems sturdy and on a tough day when you're going nowhere I'd have no hesitation tying on a one fish wonder!
