At 2016 Lure expo, I mentioned to Travers that Robyn & I did not have one of his lures in our "Friends" lure display and that I would like one of his iconic lures to display. About a week ago, I got a message from Travers saying he has something to cure an illness I am suffering from and he needed my address. All a little cryptic I know but it all became clear when I opened the parcel that arrived shortly after. A Classic Powell Digger and something special, an OCD Therapy. Now the OCD Therapy is indeed special, for those that don't really know, my wife says I have OCD and that is where the name for my lures came from. OK, I like things to be right, if you know what I mean. Well this little lure goes against everything I can think of in a scorpion type lure and Travers has purposefully done this. Normally the belly on a scorp is tapered to a vee and the back is rounded, the belly is normally a lighter colour with red patches on the tail & gills. The back is normally coloured and the stripes are on the sides and top. Not on this one, everything is reversed, even the eyes are on the underside and Travers has even put mismatching hooks on it to play with my mind.
Yes it screws with my mind in all sorts of way but I love it, thanks Travers.

Gavin, you're a good bloke so the least that I could do is screw with your mind!
There is one subtle feature on that Scorpion that Peter Newell would have 'tuned me up'. As with the Kadaitchas, it was a big no no to have the stripes on the underbelly of the Scorpion. I couldn't help myself. On one side, I made the stripes flow through to the underbelly, which is on top of the lure. Glad you liked the lures, Gavin. Travers

Having seen the amount of thought and effort that you put into this lure Travers, I think I've worked out who may also be OCD!

Now I know what to give you for your birthday Gavin.

That is messed up Travers! You twisted individual, poor Gav!
I would have to repaint it myself, it'd be a shame as it is such a lovely job. But it is just plain wrong. Matt |
