Cheers fellas. Hope you's are having a nice weekend.
Danny, I've got the clear drying on the little native coloured ones now. Pretty happy with how they came out. I'll post them up in the coming days.
Thanks

Thanks Mr Viper. I kept on adding black to the browny orange colour I have and worked my way towards the top of the lure. Think it was 4 different (darker) shades until I got what I was trying to achieve. I'm pretty happy with how they look. Will definitely do more in this colour in the future.

Unreal Dan. No more buying lures for you. You're onto some winners in your own creations.

Cheers,

Danny.

Thanks guys. I agree with something you said the other day Danny. I'm also finding that I only want to fish my own lures or others lures that have been handmade and it's just as satisfying seeing my mates catch fish on a lure I've made as it is catching them myself.

Nailed it Dan

The challenge (catching a fish) is compounded once making your own lures is introduced into the mix. But the rewards are so much better. It's also testing watching friends sling shot a 2 hour paint job into a concrete pylon, or tie a dodgy looking leader knot. You just have to keep telling yourself "I enjoyed making that lure and it was made to be fished." Or alternatively "I need some new friends."

Cheers,

Danny.

What a great pic. Love it. On a side note mate. Do you offer any of these lures up for sale. I reckon they'd do the trick here in the rivers n creeks around the Hinchinbrook Channel.

Hi

Seems you had a g8 time catching 90 cm on your home made lure. Thumbs Up
Its not just catching, but once the fish hits your ownlure the feel one gets cannot be describe in word.

Fantastic lures you have made and superb color design...............great work, which is endorsed by your catch.

Regards, Raghubir

love the color of your lures ,your shape is a bit similar to what i make a proven shape for barra, i didnt copy  lol.great to see them hanging out of a few fish ,it is definatly a real buzz when you land fish on something you made yourself .and as was said before i would be interested in a couple if you sell as they would be brilliant on our barra and threadies
it a lot better world if you just smile

Thanks for the nice words. I know, as a lot of people know, that colours in general play little part or at least less in attracting or enticing fish to bite than say size and action, but I have to say that this coloured lure as far as myself and a couple of mates are concerned, has super powers haha. I’ll be doing plenty of painting over the next week or 2 so PM your details and I’ll make sure to swing you a few when I’m done.
