Gday have discovered a lure maker that hailed from Rockhampton and made a nice variety of successful fish catching lures, mainly for family and friends. Sid had a saddlery shop in William St, Rockhampton from the mid 70's till the mid 80's called" Huff and Aspen". He was a keen fisherman who chased Barra in the Rocky area as well as to the north around the Styx River and Ogmore, Stanage Bay region.

He made some great looking lures and I am sure you will be impressed with his surface walking "Popeyes" made to mimic the prolific baitfish in the area, the "Popeye" Mullet.
Cheers Steve R !!!

Great looking lures, I see a Wild River influence in a couple of them.

Hi Steve,
I just come across your post about Sid Huff. I am currently researching the Huff family tree and your post is the first thing I have come across regarding Sid's Saddlery. I have heard lots about his work and he was well regarded, but I can't seem to find anything on this. I was wondering if you had any more info on the saddlery or Sid himself, or if you had any more stories or memories of him that you would like to share.
Regards
Sandy Smile
