To make making homemade blades a little easier and faster I had a crack at making a few moulds and pouring my own rather than gluing lead weight on as I had in the past. Made on 1mm polycarbonate and scrap lead. Made the moulds from auto body filler. The moulds are a little rough but do the job, I don't think the fish will care if there are a few imperfections. I have also made a mould for spinnerbaits and have a learnt a few things to improve the next moulds I make.

These are based off 40mm switchblades and 35mm breamer vibes.

Beats paying $13 -$20+ for a blade to snag!

Great idea. Do you use them for fresh water or salt water fishing.

I have not had a great deal of success with that type of lure.

Do they perform better with very light line 4- 6 lb or can you get away with using slightly heavier line.

They  certainly  can find snags.

I ended up locating some on eBay very cheap I thought and then rested them.
Might be better fishing over sand. (whiting bream)

Regards John

Nothing wrong with those mateThumbs Up

I have fished with a mate from Townsville off Magnetic Island and the fish were only taking his homemade blades, including one that had stripped off over 150 metres of my 7 kilo line with no signs of stopping (put more pressure on the drag and the line popped before it spooled me).
Martin-

you don't havta be pretty to fish

Very versatile. Can slow roll them over flats. Jig them vertically on a deep school. Hop them like you would a plastic. The issue with some of the cheaper ones is that the action doesn't seem to kick in until they are moving quite quickly.
These ones look great. And beats snagging $15 at a time.
