Hoping that somebody can ID this shad. It could be Storm as I think the red hooks were often used on those lures. There are no distinguishing markings on the lure but it works really well.

Not a Storm! Just a generic Chinese Minnow, they still work OK... Oversize hooks have been retro fitted.

Fysshe is on the money.
Looks very close to some plastic blanks I bought and caught a lot of fish on (just painted with gold spray can) Nice enough finish. Lots of blokes spray up the same blanks and brand and sell them - could be anyone. |

Yes John, just type in fishing lures on Ebay and there are plenty there for about $2 each... I use a few in my sacrificial box for shallow water barra, just upgrade the hooks.

Always handy to have a couple you don't mind throwing in to the back of the gnarly snags.

Yea but there are different levels of sacrificial... Like what's taking the first suicide flight over the top of 3 laydowns in to a stagnant pocket layered with detritus? $100 4 piece articulated timber swimbait? Or a $3 Chinese/eBay number to do a quick depth check and recon? |

Yup. 50mm cup faced poppers and stickbaits, no paint, bream and whiting magnets.
Bit of red nail polish in the cup of the popper, if you feel fancy. |
