So this turned up with a mate in Darwin.
I'm sure there are a million backyarders pumping out stuff like these but this one has a few features that catch my eye.


Notably the super heavy duty spine wire. And the way the blades are fixed to the arms.

Any ideas?

wire looks to be old welding rod,that is a  very well made spinner

I'm pretty sure that's how Alpha made their first aeroplane spinners. My uncle in Sth Aust has a few dozen of them.

I think they were made like this up  to some time in the '60s. These older ones have that nice old world charm that enhances cod lure displays.

No good to display if it doesn't swim.
Should have thrown it at a Barra while I was up there
