Hi guys, best forum on lures by far. I recently got a lure from someone and have been getting good catches on it. But unfortunately lost it on a battle with a large Australian salmon. Would love to buy another lure but don’t know who the maker is. Could anyone here please identify this lure? Thanks in advance.

Just a Chinese cheapie, just type in "saltwater lures" on Ebay and plenty of similar ones will be there.

It’s actually a vintage lure that I bought but don’t know the maker. It’s around 150-155mm in size. If you look at the fish gill pattern it’s quite distinctive but not sure who makes them. The lure does not feel like a cheap Chinese lure from eBay so I thinks from a reputable brand but don’t have knowledge to know which brand.

I've checked most popular brands from Europe, US, and Japan and can't find any with that gill pattern! I have this one with the same pattern that I've had for awhile which I have upgraded the hooks and rings on. Similar shape and paint scheme but possibly not the same maker as yours. There are a lot of good copies out there!

Your lure looks like the same as mine. Could be the same maker. Who is the maker for your lure by the way? Thanks

It's just a "No Name" lure from a special bin somewhere. Most reputable makers will usually have a name or logo on the lure...

Ok, thanks for your help. Have been trying to pick up some more of this lure but cannot find it anywhere even on eBay. Have you found any lure of the brands similar to the action and style of this lure? Thanks

There are lots of lures around of similar size and action. Better off getting quality. For Aus lures. Reidys B52's are a great lure. Rapalas from Europe are very good quality, Yozuri and Shimano from Japan too. There are plenty of US lures also that fit the bill, Bomber lures are very popular here. Check out some of these online and decide...

There are a lot of lures out there that will fit the bill, River2Sea are good quality, Daiwa make excellent lures as well. As warren said, a lot of manufacturers are based in China nowadays with good quality control. You can have this lure if you want it, it's just been sitting in an old tackle box for years.
