I was recently given a couple of unfinished lures by a close friend of mine. Some square timber, some rough carved and one or 2 sanded with drill holes. She explained that they belonged to her grandfather and sadly he was now too old to continue making lures for himself.
Here is the first one I finished for her. I twisted up some wires to suit the existing holes. Made an aluminium bib and coated it 2 coats of envirotex. I believe the timber was western red cedar. It was put in the mail this morning so she should receive it just in time for her to go and show her grandfather and family at Xmas. Cheers |

Superb, never get tired of simplicity. Love how it captures the grain rings, hope you gave it a test swim before sending it off?
