The Scampi lure began back in 1995 with a prototype made for a trip that Paul and a few mates did to Mulwala. This week Paul released his latest batch of Scampi which incidentally are the first ones to have Aluminium bibs. To mark this occasion Paul has engraved the bibs with "1st Edition".
There are 12 different colours, some new, some twists on old classics using UV paint and 2 semi-transparent patterns on Silky Oak. As well, and I'm still not totally sure if it was a genuine accident like Paul says or whether he is just toying with us collectors who like complete sets, but for one of the semi-transparent patterns roughly half were painted with Red eyes while the rest have Black eyes. While I consider them to be a spectacular set and personally love all the colour patterns that Paul has used, I think that my favourites would have to be the ones with the mat finish. According to Paul they take a little longer to do but I for one think that the results are well worth the extra effort. I'm a big fan of your work Paul, Col |
