Hi all,
I'm new to this forum, we are from south weat vic and will be heading up to Stanthorpe over the Christmas break we are staying at the Somerville tourist park and I plan on taking my wife fishing we will have our kayaks, couple of questions, is les barlow still selling his lures, I would love to be able to stop by and buy a couple and what other lures work on the local fish ? Thanks in advance

if your a new face to him, take your time. he is wary of people he hasn't met before. then again his memory is a bit shady. try surface paddlers and spinner-baits in the creeks. les is a good bloke, old school. . . . .mick

Les is a lovely bloke, called in on him last year. Being around 85yrs. young Les is a little hard of hearing, be patient if you knock, make it load. Hope you find him home, you won't regret it.

The lures Dad creates have a great action the only 1 with a better action is a Tenterfield Dart made by Peter Newell my fathers days started when a small boy going into to Sundown with his father Sonny and his mates were great fisherman the park was a old sheep grazing property owned by the Walsh family Joe Walsh was 1 of Sonny's best mates so they had the run of the area many trips down there no doubt one Easter while in there when in scouts i was using a old hand spool and a rubber floppy i manged to pulled a massive jew fish out Joe Walsh's comment when hiking back past the homestead that the only other person he knew of catching a jewfish on a floppy was My Grandfather Sonny Barlow Dad still has your Lures you did for him hope this reaches you well dad turned 90 at Christmas time still pottering away cheers.
