One  of the experts should be able to tell me if they were wooden lures, article does not cover that point
located Fishing World Dec 1991
Some background history on the naming of the lures
Perhaps someone actually has one of these lures.

WinkI've got the later biggoons then when they were made from plastic. I've got gadens/halco model with the articulated tow point and I've got the last ones made by Halco and given to me by Ben Patrick which has got the omega clip as a tow point. Ben gave me 3 lures to try on barra as well as cod, My cousin Ron Bochow of Darwin trolled the Daly with great success while I casted southern waterways with equal success. Unfortunely the model with halco only had a short life and at the time of conversation with Ben there were only 7oo unpainted models left in the shed, subsequent inquiries into there whereabouts a little time later revealed that Ben was able to sell off that last consignment of lures to an unnamed purchaser! Its a darn shame really as these lures accounted for a hell of a lot of fish, I don't know if Halco even has the mould anymore, but a re-release of this lure would be very welcome!!! regards B.J. also I'm also no expert on these matters!!!!LOL

Mike, I think yours would all be pre-halco era, maybe when Rob was in Glen Innes..??? He was doing the moulded bodies there for a period ( well maybe not ACTUALLY moulding the bodies)

WinkG'day brolly yeah thats the clip I've mistakenly named as (articulate) I've got only the elton john in that colour range, The ones given to me by ben patrick had another tow point completely, the other colours I've got are blue stripes over white and fluro green all over x2 with each one with a differing tow staple clip!!!I yeah and theres a pink with yellow stripes! Impressive colours there brolly and a lot to keep an eye out for ay?

G`day, This is my first post. I bought a rmg biggoon recently. It is a timber one and it isnt the same coloration as the ones shown in the brochure. It has a cross pattern on the side. It is also has it`s name and rmg on its underneath written with a thin Nicko pen . It is a good looking lure.  sincerely Chris

Nice lures John, My biggoon. Has a metal bib, and has the same towing attachment like yours. It has never been swam and is by far the best condition lure I own. Just a slight mark where the metal tow point rests across the bib. When my son gets home on the weekend I will post a photo of this lure. Regards Chris

what length is it, and interesting to note a different style of split ring on the lure

Thanks for posting

The length is 60mm and with the bib it is a touch over 80mm. As for the split ring maybe some one else has the same type on one of theirs.

Hey there,
I am new to this game as well, this being my first reply. I have some old RMG Lures in timber, some Rellik Doc, black rats and Death Adders and they all have the same elongated split ring design that is on your Bigoon. Not sure how old mine are but they are at least 20 years old to my knowledge.

Cheers

The oval split rings can also be found on Newells and McFeeters lures, not sure who used them first Peter or Rob, the jury is probably still in recess, but Trevor would have got some from Peter I am certain.

Hi John, I am in the process of clearing out my lure collection and happened to find your post from 2011. The two lures pictured in that Fisho article were timber Rellik Docs (cod killer backwards). As it happens, I have both those lures in my collection, since I worked at Fishing World at that time.
I am Keen to sell them, so if you (or anyone) is interested, let me know.

Cheers
Gil Schott
