Has to be Halco twisty, they don't need six gears to get them working

Any small chrome slug with no action, just full on speed, is my pick for any of the smaller species. Even better is a surf candy fly stripped back at full speed. Can't go past the laser pro 190 for Yellowfin. On their day, those things are rediculous! Colour can change from day to day, but the King Brown is a cracker.

I love to high speed spin with laser slugs or raiders but most chrome lures work ,lasers come in different color flashes down the sides and sometimes one color . I usually start with green then qantas then try  chrome/silver see which one they like best ,but if they`re  up on the surface feeding any thing flashing past thy`re nose gets hammered. Also as George says the gold halco twisty`s works well.

Doing up the 499 at the moment Bob. Still got the 'Scape, no Arrows left. My son has the old rod, think I built it on a Conolon 505 blank. Thanks for the memories.

Gold Halco Twisty 40-60gr. Work em slow or burn them or let them flutter down they work all ways.

This season though the 5inch Gulps were picking Longtails/Northern Bluefin up as Snapper by catch which was interesting on 2500 reels, even with carbon drags.

Good question!
when I was into LBG, favorites for small tuna, macktuna, bonnies, stripeies, sometimes longtails were barrell sinkersmwith white heatshrink and crystal eyes I the 35gm size. Saw a couple of small yellowfin spun up on half x quaters.
Hard to say what my favorite is out of the boat, caught quite a few when targeting marlin out of cairns, but they were by catch and not targeted at all.

here I occosionally target longtails with barrell sinkers and heavy small profile metal slugs, though longtails here are pretty small 6 to 12 kg.
