the 80mm is a smaller version of the one i use on the barra and the 60mm has got a smaller taper than the originals Dave made years ago, not swam any yet and the finish is tops, going to be hard to peg at a tree regards George |

I too have picked up another Assassin, of the 'bay again, but this one was a surprise. Was advertised as a COD lure, but on receiving it, it wasn't as big as I thought, either that or the Cod aren't that big down where it came from, or the Bass up here are bigger,
because this is as close as I have seen to a Blitz Baga in many years. Flat belly with a slight keel, shoulder just aft of belly eye, and I like the chamfered edge on the bib. The paint scheme is 'old school' as well. Best of all its signed and dated by Dave Carter |

Do you reckon the bevel on the bib is original or a mod?

Paul, looks orig , lure came in stapled clamshell, I am sure one of the lads can verify that with Dave next time they see him at the markets.

The bevel on the bib is one of Dave's things he did for a while [ so it will be original ]. Tim. |

Tim do you know if the bevel was for aesthetic purposes or was it for a specific purpose?

Ropes, the bib material was so thick on some of his earlier lures, i think he ground the edge of the front of the bib to take away the big square edge that was there, and make it look abit neater. i see he has now found thinner bib material & they look a treat. cheers Tim.

I really like that lure, would love to see it swim! When I buy cheap fully moulded lures I bevel and polish the very thick bibs, works a treat!
Cheers Matt.
