hi trevor that timber you where talking about under the key's is sugar pine. most other timber in the piano's is called spruce. regards flick.

Hi Flick, looks like you look at your computer once in blue moon. Thanks for that info. There are definitely 2 types of timber. The one under the keys is denser, must be as you identified, sugar pine. A bit like silky oak but lighter in colour. Good to see you are still about. Some of the old crew are going to Glen Lyon next week, couldn't make it. The Ideals Man and Lloyd are into full on stocking mode for Wyralong Dam. They admit it's going to be their last hurrah.
