Hi Rod and welcome to the site. I would have thought the volume available when first introduced and continued availability here in Australia ( especially Tasmania , wild trout territory) they would be users more so than collecting items, that would at least apply on the Australian market scene.
Have you come across any home made wooden lures made by New Zealand fisherman. I acquired 39 New Zealand Monthly fishing mags recently ,but could not find one ad or article on locally made wooden lures. Any info or photos would be of interest to the site Regards John
