I was sold on the concept of this Tribute Lure from the very first moment that Paul floated the idea and have been monitoring it's development with eager anticipation. The lures come in a range of classic native colour patterns with a painted bib and the eyes painted underneath. As such, they are a respectful and nostalgic nod to that select band of lure masters who called the Granite Belt home and who between them pioneered this now iconic lure style.
During the development phase Paul undertook several R&D trips up to the granite gorges of the New England high country to trial various prototypes in the actual situation for which they were designed. After a few tweaks he finally had a model which performed precisely as he wanted and the "Thunderbolt 80" was born. I'm thinking that these lures may have an older history then I first thought. Seem's only appropriate to leave the final comment to a mouth that knows. |

An additional photo for historical records purposes documenting a couple of the "Thunderbolt 80" prototypes.
As well, a photo of a discarded prototype for a larger "Thunderbolt 100" lure. This version didn't make the cut but that may not be the end of the story. |

Hi Graham,
The answer to your question is Yes and Yes. Paul has released two versions: a sinking lure with a metal bib as well as floating version with a polycarb bib. Regards, Col |

Thanks Col,
I appreciate the reply. I will keep an eye out to buy a few of these, although they look almost too good to use! Cheers, Graham
