Just traded for three old lures in Cardwell FNQ, that owner said were made by Harvey Lowe a good mate of Vic McCristal's. They definitely have some age to them and one has nice black pen highlight work done as scales. Harvey was said to hale from Victoria, these lures all have yellow painted eyes with small black pupils. Sorry can't post pics at present but will on my return home in about two weeks, weather permitting LOL.
Any info. on Harvey would be appreciated, obviously a barra fisherman going by these three.
Seaweed.

Tony, Harvey lives a few blocks from me, a retired primary school teacher, top bloke. Had a lot to do with most of the "old school" lure makers around here. Yes knew Vic, even had some of his old Notched bibs!! He did finish many of his lures, lots of freshwater stuff, with dextrous use of Texta for Fins eyes etc on his lures. Billy Stringer Had a lot of his lures given him last year or two. Cheers Richard

Thanks Richard, you've seconded what I've just found out from Brett Thomson. He apparently also did some making with Eric Moller in the day. From Victoria was obviously a furphy, I suspected he was a Qld. barra man going by the three lures i picked-up. I'll post some pics when (if?) I get home. Presently in Cairns, with this weather event, I'll be leaving my MINI here and flying home to Darwin with the wife, I'll come back in a month or so to drive home. Good thing my youngest son works for Qantas LOL.
Regards, Tony.

Home now, but my poor little MINI had to stay behind in Cairns, she's not a submarine .
Here is a pic of the Harvey Lowe I picked-up in Cardwell FNQ on my travels. Note the highlights Harvey added with Indian Ink. An old mate of Vic McCristal's and Eric Moller, who made with Eric in his Cardwell shed.
