hi all, I have got only a few bibs left of my main depth range and waiting an order with the tow point in the bib, also playing with making a few ,but my question is tow points for the head instead of in the bib,i have had quite a few failures with lures due to broken bibs, but cant remember when I had one pull out of the head .whydoes the method of bib fixing seem more popular than head fixing and is it worth trying with my lures .how much of a change will it make to the action cheers AL

Hi Al, The old metal bib in lure body + tow point in body makes it a little more difficult to attain a good action. Lots of lure-making skills required!!. The popular Lexan bib & omega clip makes lure swimming action very easy to achieve!(LOL Comments please!!!) Most makers of timber lures that use polycarbonate bibs pin the bibs thru into head of lure. It is very rare for head towed wire eyelets to pull out imho. Good luck with your lure making, lots of very good info on this site. Cheers Richard.

Hi Al

This topic has been covered previously but, basically, the tow point must be in a particular location for the lure to wobble. The tow point location is determined by many factors, including lure size and buoyancy, bib size, bib angle etc etc.

The following posts may help explain it, without having to rewrite it again.
