A mate of mine has this old Hellbinder lure that seems to do very well on Bass. He's getting a bit concerned though that it might get lost if he gets busted off. Anyone got any idea of the value of these things?

Not sure about hellbinders but you can pick up hellbenders on ebay for about ten bucks each they have a heart shaped bib and a small spinner on their tail. good for yellas and cod i know that much i've always got at least 2 in my tacklebox while fishing

Takrat - is the Hellbender plastic or timber? If it's timber then it is worth quite a bit more.

They work ok for Bass, but if he loses it to a fish or snag it's no real loss, there's much better lures available on this site!!

I'm pretty sure it's a timber lure, he's had it since the late '60s, one of the Whopper Stopper breed before they were bought out by Heddon.

Clap That's pretty much what he's got, but with a bit of green on it!
