Thanks Barry,
Are we the only two on this board that appreciate these old things ? The Comet was typically sold around 1898 by many English retailers, did any get to Oz ?

I would love to hear if anyone knows.

Cheers, Mike.

Mike, if you dragged this through a northern Aussie billabong I'm sure you'd snare a barra. Seeing as the old timers used .303 empty shell casings with holes drilled for hook and tow tie, they worked a treat.
I'll keep an eye out for any relics here in Darwin N.T.
(PS Cranky (Barry), being an old relic himself, that's why he's interested LOL.)
Regards, Tony.

Interested in seeing some of the ancients from the "old dart" myself. Was talking to a tackle shop owner at East Grinstead a few years ago and he showed me some of his relics - WOW.

After looking at Kelly Boys post above, I believe I may actually have 2.  I cannot find a mark on the 1, but it's similar to the style of Kelly Boys lure.  Again, my email is jayszakall@hotmail.com   Please feel free to email me with any interest even if you can just help me establish what these lures are worth.  Thanks so much everybody.

Hello Guys,

This is Jason's Wilkes Spinner -

His other is an un-named Ring Mounted Devon, possibly also sold by Wilkes, Allcock, etc. Contact him directly if you are interested.

Cheers, Mike.
