Just ordered a display cabinet. What’s the general consensus on this type of display?

I like hooks, it finishes it and makes it look like a lure. Although I do have some Powell’s that I have bought that came with hooks but not attached,

No hooks for me. Unless the luremaker had a hand in designing the hooks on the lure I don't see it as part of their work. Other things like bibs (although most probably cut by someone else) were still designed and glued in by the maker, which I think takes more talent than fitting hooks with split ring pliers. If every lure I collect came with clean original hooks (not old rusty ones or upgrades) then maybe I'd keep them on however I think half on and half off in the cabinet doesn't look right. So it's a no for me. Obviously a personal choice.
Cheers, Danny. |

Without hooks, it's like a car without wheels.

Hooks for me. Depends on wether you are collecting fishing lures or bits of painted wood/plastic

I think that’s where I am. I’ll display as found and see how it looks.
