Billy, I had not heard of Clive Bowen before but I am aware from the posts of others on this site that there were a number of members of a Townsville Sportfishing Club, including Don Bailey, Bruce Granville (maybe spelt Glanville) and others who made lures together on what appears to have been a kind of collaborative basis. The designs, paint colours etc they all used are very similar and significantly many used a bib made using a common punch that had a small ding in it that resulted in the bibs having a common imperfection in their edge. The apparent sharing of paint, design and components makes the precise identification of the maker very difficult. Looking at your lures for example, the top minnow is very much like a Don Bailey lure I have and the herring patterns very much like some Bruce Granville lures I bought a few years ago.  Regards, Ken.

Clive Bowen was indeed a member of the local TALGAC I`ve been informed. He lived on Nathan St before moving to Brisbane 20 odd years ago, passing 3-4 years ago. A good Pickup Billy!!!.Cheers Richard.

Nice pick-up, another early Oz maker I'd never heard of, so many from the Townsville district. I'd be keen on one for my Aussie Maker Wall, trade you for a Seaweed Barra if you're interested.
Regards, Tony.
