Can you give any more info on it, where it came from generally and background history?. Any chance of a close up of the signature. I have put a barra lure up previously of Kev's so will try and find it and link them for easier reference.
Alistair.

Hi Lionel

Your post was automatically hidden as only luremakers with a stall can start a thread in the cottage industry lure market section - it's dedicated purely for luremakers to sell their creations.

I have moved it to the Aussie Lures, NSW Lures section. Which is for all discussion related to lures and luremakers in NSW Thumbs Up
Cheers, Tony

For the love of Fishing Lures.

Lyonel could you tell me if the eye is painted or a little shiny stick on please.
Kevin Clark used to spend a bit of time up north Qld around Cardwell area with Vic McCristal. Stories that I've found are 1985_6 and later.

I was doing research on Leads Lures and found a few lines in a story about Kev Clarke.
Qld Lures section/Leads Lures page 1 The Handmade Revolution by Vic Mc Cristal 3rd page of the story 1983.
I have been interested in this since I found a photo of a lure in a Vic McCristal article 2 years ago about strikezones on a lure and a photo of a lure by Peter Nesbitt. I rang Captain Cranky and asked him had he heard of a luremaker by that name -no. Someone dropped a handful of old mags on my table and I flicked thru them and stopped at a story by Kev Clarke called A Sort of Day you dream of. The story was about a trip on the Clarence River with Rob Lockwood, Peter Nesbitt and Kev C. In a small photo was a line up of lures that Kev and Peter had made for bass fishing. I rang Kev to get info on Peter and was told that he was a woodwork teacher in Casino NSW years ago and together they made lures and also did a trip up north barra fishing with Vic McC.
Kev wasn't sure where he retired to. Soo I left it for 6mths until a friend John Denman told me he visited a house of a gunsmith and there was a lure board with a boomer on it. I quickly rang Peter and we spoke at length and he said come get these lures and have a visit. It was 6 weeks before I could get away for the trip to Casino and I met Peter and his wife Robyn and spent 2 hours talking luremaking and his many varied hobbies. He hadn't touched the lures in 15 years since his fishing buddy had died. Peter said he was hopeless at painting and together Kev and Peter started out copying well known American lures such as hotntot, deep 6, tadpoly and then developed their own makes. Photos tonight.

Thanks for that Deb, I will have to grab a photo copy of that article off you at some stage if possible. Are all those lures in the flesh and pics ones that they made together?

Here is a pic of the old Barra lure I got from Kev.  Lure body is 105mm with total length with bib 120mm.

I have spoken to Kev and today sent off all photos for him to verify. It was quite a thrill to have everything fall into place. The best thing is I've saved some history as everything could have ended up separated in a garage sale eventually. I'm away tonight so I'll put up more photos tomorrow. I have 2 similar to yours, Alistair.
