Well it looks lke the stars are falling into alignment and plans are underway to do a bucklet list trip to the Kimberley/Berkeley River in late April. The plan is to leave from Wyndham and make our way to the Berkeley and then back again over 6 or 7 days. There will be 4 boats all up so working on the safety in numbers principle. Have got the OK from the boss at home at the boss at work.
If it all goes ahead as planned, it going to be hard to decide not what gear to take, more what not to take.
Any advice from those who have visited/fished that area would also be appreciated.
Cheers
Col
Plastic is for storing lures, not making them.

hi mate don't do any trips to Berkley. But fish out wyndham heaps, 70km by water towards mouth of gulf area. April is generally good weather, but biggest tip is travelling with tide (huge tide country) and try to ovoid travelling in gulf when tide and wind are going against each other, it gets pretty ugly on big tides at times.
Fishing options will be endless , I tend to fish close to wyndham that time year as the big barra move up with all fresh pumping out few local rivers.
Sounds like great trip

Thanks for the comments :)
Thanks for the info Unicorn. Do you have a colour preference or style of lure that is your go to lure ?
The plan is to leave on the high tide and not run straight to the Berkeley but to fish our way there.

Hi mate , my go to lure would be a chartreuse 125mm scorpion in 3metre or 5 metre , the soft vibes are deadly on deep snags and I no blokes who do well with them in berkley on deep rock faces on the jacks vertical jigging. plenty good creeks on your way , find the snags fish wont be to fare away. Happy to answer any questions flick us a message if ya require any thing else... cheers
