I am sure I am not alone when I tell you that I love Crayfish lures, here are some of my favourites.

These first couple of excellent Crays are from the very talented Allan Sloman of A&B Lures fame, one of which mysteriously turned up just prior to Christmas and was a huge surprise that Santa would find very hard to top! Jamie and myself both love it, thank you again Allan Big smileClap

Allan is a fellow fan of Keith Baker's lures, and made the smaller of these two lures some years ago for himself, inspired by one of the lures I've shown further below. It's not very hard to spot which one, as Allan did a great job! (if you need a hint look closer at the bibs) Wink

The larger lure has a carapace length of 8" and 3 1/2" for the much older small one.

Another shot to try and show how nice Allan's paintwork is. As we haven't had much sunshine for a while I originally thought the top was black, although it's a very yummy metallic midnight blue Cool

Here are some of Mr Keith Baker's incredible creations

And another beauty from our friend across the seas, Mr Verlon Caudill of CircleVbaits

Got any Cray lures you are crazy about?

Cheers, Tony

For the love of Fishing Lures.

Hi Alistair,
The group shot of crays were actually called painted crays as they were a mix  of air brushing and hand brush painting ,good pick up there with the similar look to the painted one you posted.
Regards Darcy.

Hello LL, I didn't realize that there were so many different versions of the crawfish.
The reason that I made the craw is:  I caught a Kentucky bass with a fat belly. I cut it open to see what it had been eating. It had just eaten a small craw, I froze it until I got ready to make it. I drew a pattern from the dimensions of the craw and then carved it. while fishing I caught a bass on the third cast and 8 more that morning.
Great job and beautiful colors. You Aussies are very talented.
Have a great day,
Verlon

These belong here I guess....

Been setting myself some carving exercises copying the Deception range in different timbers.
1/ To get used to complicated shapes with compound curves Ermm
2/ To familiarise myself with the various timber properties. Wacko
3/ So my set of nude Scampi's will feel at home, when they arrive Clap
