   The kids (and I) love catching Spangled Perch. What a great little fish.Since January they have been reliable to catch although the size has diminished lately. The kids don't care though. A worm on a tiny hook under a float is all that's required. 
I've been using circle hooks with the kids and they work great - no need for the kids to "strike" - especially suited to float fishing.
My little boy got a surprise when he hooked and landed the 35cm Silver Perch all by himself. 
Dad was very proud  His sister was very jealous
