Just had a pile of "Liquid Amber", "Norfolk Pine" and "Silky Oak" arrive courtesy a fishing mate from down South. I've used Silky oak before but only for nude display lures but I've not used the Liquid Amber or the Norfolk Pine before. The Liquid Amber looks like a beautiful timber to work with, from my dent test it appears to be about the same density as White Beech.

Has anyone used these two timbers to make lures?

Blinky, if you run out of timber, have a bit of King Billy Pine here that Bruce Moller brought back from Tassie. I've been turning out a few, nudes to, beaut lure making timber, can spare you a chunk.

The Liquid Ambar sands up a treat, bit hard on the bandsaw and sander but comes up like glass once worked.....
