Hi Guys,
Actually the name Lizard Lures has nothing to do with the lizard shape of this lure. Lizard lures was started with one lure, a 75mm deep diver purely designed as a trolling lure for flathead aka lizards! This lure was designed and marketed by the third owner of the lizard lures brand, Denis Hawkins aka Hawkeye Lures. Not sure of the name of it however the finish is very invicitive of Denis's work! |

I have a couple of Lizard lures at home (from dad) that are about 20 years old. Deep divers for cod or yellowbelly from memory. Both are purple with spots. cheers

I picked up this 2 inch Lizard yesterday. Are Lizard Lures still going? This one has white eyes where the others have yellow eyes. I s this an indication of age / maker?

Hey horror head,
I started lizard lures but I only produced one size, a 75mm deep diver, similar in shape to yours. I designed the 50mm model you have but only ever as a prototype. When I sold the business, the new owner then released the smaller version. The one you have was produced by the third owner of the business, Denis Hawkins aka Hawk eye lures. The colour and finish are the give always as to who made it. As Richo said, leave it in the tackle box and fish with it, if it swims it will catch fish ..... If... ;) |
