A brand of lure that flies under the radar, the Whittys have got to be one of the best painted lures from the 90s. Right up there with Newells, Bennetts and Deceptions, IMHO.
They don't come up too often, when they do, they are mostly snaffled by Rick (Codzo) who has a pretty bad Whittys condition! I would call it an addiction, but its actually worse than that! I have been secretly finding a few, and building up my own stash of these great lures. But as Rick is now on to me, I thought I would show a few of them here - as there hasn't been a Whittys post in 18 months or so. Hope you enjoy the pics. Thanks for sharing your secret stash with us Matt. I agree with your assessment of them as "being up there with the best" and certainly deserving of a wider audience. As well, I also have found them difficult to come by and have only managed to gather a small group of 7 together, which I'm happy to share below.
As a point of historical interest, I have been lead to believe that the red and yellow lure at the top of the third photo is from the first batch of lures that John ever made. Regards, Col Dee-Bobs Seaker and Wompa First Batch, Wompa and Dee-bob |

Thanks Guys! I was lucky getting 11 in one tackle box recently, almost doubling my collection in one hit.
Col, thanks for sharing! some great looking Whittys there. That metal bibbed deebob is pretty special. I haven't seen too many of those. Cheers, Matt |

Only have the one, found in a Darwin junk shop years ago, signed Whitty's and Wompa, a very long way from home.

No worries Matt, good to see people are posting up new additions to their collection - that's what it's all about.
