the mini dart was a first that i have seen very nice a few others but only common colours and the flat on the sides of the standard dart early or just the timber he had at the time?? regards George |

George the flat sides I reckon is just the width of timber he used as I have super Darts with the same! Maybe a lot less work for the maker when he uses the exact size Width and only has to finish off the rest of body. Very nice lures and would be nice to have in collection. Mini darts are a great little lure and must of been a bugger to make so small. They swim very well !

The width of the timber doesn't result in 'flat sides', when the lures are carved using carving lines, as Peter Newell taught Trevor. Remember that Trevor hadn't made lures, prior to Peter employing him. I think it may have been that Trevor just wasn't real keen on the sanding side of things. Many of his lures look like they could have done with a few more minutes of sanding. Remember that these lures were made to catch fish, not lure collectors. Cheers Travers |

I don't mind a bit of flat on the sides of a lure, I reckon it gives out a different 'soundwave ' than a fully rounded lure...
Nice lures George, and at least you know where they are Brad |
