After Chris's prompt, I found this   http://www.freepatentsonline.com/6651375.html , similar, but I think mine is simpler, now I have worked out a "wire jig".

No mate, I made these prawns to jig in shallow water for Whiting and Bream- I haven't been able to get to the SALT  to try them yet--they do work in "the tub" though Wink--have a nice "prawn glide".

Thanks everyone, this is just the reverse of the 'prawn' setup--I'm about to make another one with a few mods.

No apology necessary Chris, really it was not taken that way-Embarrassed
After looking a bit more in depth at this patent ----it was 'filed in 2001  :
http://www.freepatentsonline.com/6651375.html

--then if you scroll down, there is a list as long as my arm of 'weedless lure' patents.
Like I said, "there is nothing new under the sun", especially when it comes to fishing lures.Ouch
Pete
Just found another similar---filed 1987  LOL---- http://www.freepatentsonline.com/4782618.pdf

your right nothings new pete....and as chris said things are usually stumbled on by accident...its all part of the learning process....it occurs naturally and unknowingly when someone goes with the flow and lets  their passion run....but when you do something it has style class and rayna written all over it.....not blowin wind up ya ass.....credit where credits due.....very unique style that's second to none.

Hi
I would also like to see a larger barra prawn but am more anxious to see how the development of this one is going with the hardware to set the hook etc.

I am sure there have been a few trials already taken place.

In any case thanks again for sharing your expertise.

regards

Barry
