Guys, Just back from a 'brains trust' meeting and some news for you guys with a metallic bent.
Awards for Lure of the Year will also encompass:-
Spinnerbaits
Buzzbaits
Chatterbaits
Slugs
Jigs
In Line Spinners (Mepps/Celta type)
Blades
Aeroplane style spinners
and other lures of that ilk.

Commercial or Cottage makers are invited to enter and also eligible for the new award for Most Artistic FINISH, that is paintwork, sculpting etc.

further details will be on the www.lureshow.com.au website soon.

Hi Brad,

Is this for the 2015 Expo? and is it a separate category?

Only a week out, is pretty late notice.

Matt

Matt, It is for this year, but not really late, Metals were always a part of the award nominations, It has been decided to give them a separate section, so they don't have to compete against the traditional Diving/Swimming style lures.
There had been some feedback from heavy metal freaks ;) about having to compete against all you timber & plastic artisans.
No need to fret, it just makes the playing field more even.

No worries, sounds like a good idea splitting them up and giving the metals their own section.

Thanks for the clarification.
