Can you take a closer pic of that big Christmas Beetle looking lure at the bottom of teh 2nd photo.. looks kinda cool!

I use only one lure fishing at night for trout (no bass down here.. used these at night in the New England though too); an Arbogast Jitterbug... the most sexy wiggle on the water!!! On a quiet night the bloop... bloop... bloop... sound is also... most cool.

Wink Oooohhh and those "Twitchy" poppers just make the best little pop! Of course the "Cabbage Moth" surface walker works a treat as well pete maybe you'd like to post these as well. As for the "Spider Popper" Knolsy gave me the best example I've ever seen after I pulled out of a giant night time bass on the Nepean Rvr one early morning. I believe they're made in the Bathurst district! Newto lures from Muswellbrook also make a great surface walker more on the jitterbug theme but better! I'd post piccies of all these but just don't have the facilities! regards B.J.Confused

It's tough to go past the soft shell cicada's. I'm a big fan of local made lures but those things just puill a LOT of fish. There's a guy in Northern QLD who's working on a version of these, so hopefully I can soon buy Aussie made ones!
Sammy's and my poppers and walkers go pretty damned good too!
Got me a Twitchy WTD to test out next season to replace the sammy 65, looks just as sweet and i'm sure it'll pull me more than a few fish.

Buzzbaits are fun, as are weedless plastic frogs deep in the lilies and reeds. The strikes on both of those lures are unbelievable.

Actually there aren't many surface lures I don't like LOL.

Definitely surface.
And as Ash said - Tiemco SSC are hard to beat.  But they are also expensive to replace.
I've had some smashing sessions on the kokoda bats as well.
And jitterbugs catch a ton of fish as well.  And I find at night I can use a larger size than I would in daylight in the same areas.

Caught my first on a Bat 4 years ago, and have caught a couple of hundred on them since. Fantastic lure for the price. (Just make sure you change those split rings and trebles!)

I've had a couple that dont swim right.  But - not much I'd rather be throwing around trees in the dark because I dont get many back.

I dont need to say much but Im fond of the walking style lures. But, towards the end of the season the extra large Wake style lures were producing the better class fish.

Oh yeah in Black

So my Lightsabre would be right up there, BOB! LOLLOLLOLLOLLOL
Mencho made a jointed surface walker for Andrew, goes UNBELIEVABLY WELL!
Might have to see if he'll lend it to the 'Old Man' in Spring! Big smile
Only ever threw 1 lure in the dark, to Bass.
It was a Nude Frog (red cedar) from the Master, BOB. Thumbs Up
1 sideways push on the 3rd cast.
Didn't want to lose her to a snag. Ouch
Ended up losing her to THAT FIRE! Angry
Cheers   MAL
