I have never sealed before ,, I am only doing so now due to using WRC Never had problems with Red Cedar or White Beech . Unfortunately Mudgee has nothing , so taking a trip to Dubbo tomorrow hoping to find something there Will look for Everdure as well If all that fails ,I will just get some Dope |

I think northane is listed under the clear coat/solvent section of norglass products. I'm guessing that seeing as though it's not listed under the sealing section that even if it does the job, it may not be ideal and there are better norglass products. I use the 2 PAC wood treatment and seems ok to me.

what is the whole reason for a sealer? it's mainly for sealing the wood to then test it, before it's paintjob, right?
my original problem was due to my wood not being completely dry. that's when I learned about moisture content, etc. the product I found and use, is "PC Petrifier". it will completely dry and harden the wood, and I have found that when it dries(which it does quickly) it also gives a protective sheen. I have tested them just with this and all has been fine, but, to be extra safe, I now brush a quick primer coat on before testing. plus, I find a white lure reveals it's action much better. and this product paints over with no problems. but if you want your lure to remain exactly how it is, this product does shrink it slightly, I think, because it hardens the wood. with my hole design, when I seal them with this, I found the hole tightens up as bit after drying, so it must shrink slightly. so it wouldn't be good for the bib-style lures for that reason I would guess. |
