went through the garage yesterday and found a old mould made of plastibond, top lure is the master, bottom lure is easy cast resin, the mould works well with easy cast but not with foams such as tc812, that produce more heat, i used a high tech release agent called vaseline, a fine smear, plastibond is a cheap readily available product, but you have to be quick when making a mould, all trial and error for me as i did all my mould making and lure designs and actions with no help from anyone, liked it that way, pearcey

i think your right bob its very soft on the rod tip id say it may make a good casting flathead lure, but sadly i designed the lure made the mould and poured about ten looked at it again, and left it for eleven years, there is only two out there in the world and both went to guys on this site, pearcey

i second what Bob said Dave that lure is a beauty.ive got a plastibond mold that i made about fifteen years ago for making lead slugs somewhere, your right about heat affecting them i only used to get about 20 or 30 from a mold before it cracked

Have you considered Devcon F for making lures where heat is involved???? Its an epoxy aluminium filler used to repair castings like alloy heads on cars. Looks and machines just like alloy when its hard.

The planets must be aligned correctly , I found a mould I made back in the late 70's  just a week ago ,also from plastibond , before Sellys took the brand. I'm surprised its still around as Ive moved from one state to the other over the years.
I used a Nilsmaster spearhead for the original ,and my first and only cast lure was made from fibreglass resin .
I don't know what happened to the lure and cant remember if it was any good. , but the mould is still good.

Kev.
I'm not young enough to know every thing .
