Hi Bob,
There is no dedicated book for Australian Side cast fishing reels.
However there is a book by Bob Dunn called Australian Fishing Reels a Collectors Edition which was printed 1994.
This book was dedicated to all Australian reels (and a couple of English), ie side cast, game, spinning and overhead. This came with later supplements as more reels were found and submitted to the author.
Bob died in 2004 (I think) and the last 2 supplements were put out by Victor Muller but nothing in more recent times.
A shame really as a lot more reels have surfaced in the last few years.
The book is highly collectable and prized by collectors and therefore commands a high value.
I myself have looked at doing a book on side cast reels but alas the old problem, volume, costs and the number who would purchase such a book.
Hope this helps.
If ever you have a question , only too happy to help.

Has been a while.
Still looking for any old side cast fishing reels.
Doesn't matter if damaged or missing parts as I can restore or use as parts.
Always happy to help with ID and history.
