Thanks Barry,

I've never seen one of Peter's lures before.

Do you know if Peter is related to Gary Fooks?

Cheers, Tony

For the love of Fishing Lures.

I know he was related to Johnny Fooks Snr who was quite a successful lightweight boxer in the 60's. His son Johnny Jnr and nephew Shane Fooks were also boxers.

A John Fookes owned/managed a tackle shop in Kingston Brisbane. Captain Bligh's I think. It was a very good store. Similar to Charlton's at Redbank.

John bought that shop with Nick .....(?) could never understand or follow his last name. Nick's father in law owned the shopping centre (The Argonaught), I went to school with John Christophi - Nick's brother in law. Oldman Christophi was a scoundrel full of dirty dealings.

Yeah, Peter was on the ANSA scene late 70's early 80's. Pretty sure he was in the Brisbane club. He had a few record fish as I remember.

Didn't see Peter at this years Expo, but he's been to just about all others. He now does some great actual fish prints. Here's a couple of Quickmatch I purchased in Gove while working there mid 80's, Peter was there before moving to Cooktown. The much used one caught me plenty of Darwin harbour barra, terrific lure.

Seaweed.

Where'd you get those Wadey? They look like this, which was made by Neville Beagle of Bowen.

Regards, Seaweed.
