this subject can be confusing. i'm going to be putting a ply floor in my boat. been told this, that and the other.i'm sealing the ply with either bondcrete or everdure. if it's sealed with bondcrete, does anyone know what kind of paint will adhere to it. no information on the container or web that i can find. i've been told good and otherwise about everdure. marine carpet will cover the floor but not glued to the ply.......mick

Hi Mick
I'm a big fan of West Epoxy, you can paint over it once you've removed the amine blush. www.westsystem.com.au has lots of info, there's many other marine epoxies that are very good too, I'm not sure about bondcrete or everdure. Cheers Steve |

I have used everdure and wood preserver by FGI, both are excellent products. The FGI product is much cheaper. Deck paints adhere to both of them.

Only ever used Everdure, made by Epiglass originally and then rebranded as International Paints after an aquisition. It is super stuff and also contains biocides which will stop any fungus/mould causing dry rot. It might be dearer but it goes a long way.. the first coat should be thinned 50%, the 2nd 25% and the 3rd goes on neat. It will penetrate right through most plywoods including marine ply.
After it is dry it can be overcoated with all paints, and even resins. Brad |

I do a lot of work refitting all types of boats , Everdure is the way to go. Just make sure there is no rot.
