Size 2 Stumpys are hard to find, so I am excited to have this all Red lure
and to add to the excitement, a size 2 Stumpy block !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This block like many with one end not docked off,
are in fact test runs to see if the lure is the right size.
With many of the old handmade machines the
owners could adjust the cut so the lure could be
cut wider or narrower than the Mandrill !!
Most of the blanks cut on a good machine
dock both ends when finished !

I hear John still carves a few shapes by hand,
but his creative mind never stops thinking of
better ways to do things !!! Inventor !!!

I thought it may have been something like that off a  copy lathe, nice piece of history.

that red 1 is a classic ........are they split pins as tow point and hook hangers .......ROD
