I picked up a small clear case off ebay this week (cheap at $20Big smile) to keep some lures in on the office desk. I think I will change them around every so often. For now it holds my favorite Newell's and most of my Deception and Whitmores. I love the beady eyes staring outLOL  Next maybe a "best of" New England ThemeWink

Now that's value for money, and perfect for on the desk - Nice score Al Clap

I really need to get onto some decent storage myself!

Anyone know where I can get a cigarrette display case like they use in the servo's with the roll down security screen?  Question (Thanks for that idea by the way Alistair!) Thumbs Up

Darcy, thanks for the offer but as summer is drawing to a close and the winter will be upon us soon I feel that in the interest of global warming and the need to cut down energy useage it is better that the lures share body heat and pack in nice and closeLOL

I had a bit of a play before. The Whitmores were not happy that the Deceptions had a forward veiw so had to move them about. Sitting here I cant help the feeling of being watchedLOL

Plus I had some room on top for a bit of a New England display with A&B, D.Lawson, Mcfeeters, Mitto's, Lolback, Whitty's and Marshall lures shownBig smile

I see what you mean about being watched! LOL

Looking fantastic Alistair, that new picture looks great. The Gold Peter Newell lure with black spot on it's tail at the bottom right caught my attention straight away - Barry advised me that was one of the favoured colours used by C Lures maker Bruce Rampton ("The teacher")

Here's a couple of examples I stole from Barry's awesome Lure Room Wink
Actually I didn't steal them, although Barry got a big hug from me Hug on more than one occaision - ahem that's enough on that for now Embarrassed - what happens in the Lure Room stays in the Lure Room! Wink

Two-Bob

i don't think 5mm perspex would deter Bob, thats probably the right size for his finesse lures.

Great idea with the display case.

Hi Alister

Nice case and super price. Less sthan cost to make!
I have been making mine of late.
First big 7 shelf one cost me $200
Aftetr that I bought the acrylic  cut to size and the Acrifix 192 glue ($20( tube last for ages!) and my display case have been coming down in price to range from 50/90 dollars depending on size.

Best shots are in the slide show here. http://www.realsreels.com/Slideshows/myaburoom.swf
Three are on display in this SS , but 2 more have just been made to hold my Fly reels and Non ABU other Swedish reel samples.

Enjoy.

Picked up a glass display case from Sydney last week. Saw it whilst leaving the office sitting out the store room and thought that looks good for the Newell's so asked around and found the right person to tell me that they were not using it and I could have it for a very good price. It did not fit in the ute assembled so it was dismantled and packed as well as I could for a 800km drive back home with all panels arriving intactSmile

For now it sits between the snakes and the fax in my office. My wife just shook her head and asked what will I use the small one on the desk for now. More lures of courseLOL

That top cabinet for the office was awesome Alistair.

That nice little arrangement is well and truly broken up these days though right?

I recognise a few of those Deceptions

Most have moved on as the collection focus has narrowed. Still have all the Whitmores (less 1 mega) which has been a central collection focus, Deception Basswoods and some of the others such as RiverKings, A&B's, & Garra's which have all increased continually.
