I got Rob to make these for me about 3-4 years ago. My mates and I make a pilgrimage to Jindabyne this time every year and I like to use big lures, towed slowly & close to the bottom to catch some big pre-spawn trout. These lures are simply beautiful!

Hi paul, Rob does a good job I really like the trout patterns, many years ago I got rob to paint some surface walkers for me they were all Black with different coloured Fluro Heads. I used them so much that the poor things fell apart from  the absolute flogging I gave them. I only have one of them left now and I covered it with permanent marker pen because it didn't have any paint left on it at all. WinkWinkWink Regards Pete.
I'd rather be fishing with

Paul- thanks for posting, even if it was six months ago (I'm a bit slow)-yes these are beautiful things and have trout written all over them--the the trout at Jindi are not as numerous as Eucumbine but if you get a brown in Jindi you know you usually have a 4-5-6-7 pounder OR More.
like you say, his is the place for big lures and big fish----------------------------------
Thanks again for the look.
Pete

Hi Ropes,

They are very nice fish mate, well done ClapClap
Your rig looks well setup mate, I take it you use the downrigger for trolling close to the bottom?
Is it a pretty deep dam?

Cheers
Adrian

Thanks for the compliment about my tub. We don't target the bottom so much, but more the thermocline or tops of the weedbeds. There are many shallow areas in Jindy and we do target big fish near the bottom during cooler pre-spawn months as they feed on yabbies. There are however quite deep areas where the old creek/river beds used to run and downriggers/lead core are effective ways to extract fish from these areas. Personally I prefer flat line trolling so I can hold the rod and "manipulate my luure" (thanks Harro).
