Here it is very common to use spin fly. Either with a sinker in front, so you fish Deep. Ore with a so cald :bombarda float. These ones you can get in different sizes, weight and in floating, intermedia, and different sinking rates

I did an article in Freshwater Fishing on casting dries with spin gear in issue 113 Mar/Apr 2012 .
The method of using a resin head jig with a small plastic and a #14 high float Royal Wulff dry fly .Using braided line to the leader is go to as it floats like a floating fly line ,Mucilin the whole leader ,tie the dry fly 2 feet or so above the plastic using the dropper loop ,gink the fly and Bobs your uncle Tongue
It will cast quite well on light gear and a long rod ,the fly will also float and hold up the plastic for the whole cast to if the leaders treated with Mucilin .
The method is a cracker and is far better than usuing a bobber to cast the fly for trout !
When gently lifted from the water the fly will also look very natural and some aerial takes can be spectacular !!! You are also fishing the plastic at the same time Thumbs Up
Not sure if that helps but you never know ,
