Hi All,
Just thought some of you may find the following process handy for those annoying bottles / tins of products that once exposed to air, or resealed with some air begin to react if left over time. I use quite a few urethanes ( expanding foams and resins ) and found sometimes I might use something for a trial then store it for months and when reopen the tin find a hard brittle layer on top resulting in either total loss of the remainder, or my having to painstakingly brake open the top crust and then filter out all the chunkies before I can reuse it as I inject quite a bit via syringe ( Yep about as backyard set up injection molding as you will ever see ). Anyway what I found really helps is as follows : 1. Tell the wife that the vacuum food sealer is losing power and needs replacing. 2. I then place opened can bottle in the vacuum bag with the lid just lightly sitting on top of the can. 3. Vaccuum seal away, and once sealed - screw / press lid back in place. Has made a massive difference to the storage life on my urethanes so thought others may wish to ponder its merits. Cheers Steve |

very good idea Steve, ive also heard if you store them upside down you can alleviate a lot of the crust too, although i tried it with some two pac hardner once and it all leaked out(childproof lid!)

Yep, upside down and a screw hole to act as a tap, it will last much, much longer.
