These lures are a couple of the earlier curved bib Stumpjumpers.
The eyelets on both these lures are split pin styled,
unlike the later models which feature twisted wire eyelets.
Even the paint work is a bit rough and ready, made to catch fish I suppose,
now collected by many !!!!!!!!

Nice lure Brett ( again ), seems like everyone running out of lures to post !!! very scarce . Are these old stumpys made in one size only ??? or were they made in various sizes ( one size fits all ) please excuse my lack of knowledge on thes lures . cheers froggy

theres still plenty to show we just like to keep them close to our chest ,,,heres a strait forward 1 a no 7 which i draged plenty but never got a fish off it ,,,,,maybe the redfin werent in plague preportions back that early

Nice Stumpy Rod !! 07 is a colour that is hard to find in that good of condition.
You are right about there being plenty out there.
I would love to see the secret collector's stashes of Stumpys !!!!

Timber Stumpjumpers were made in 10 standard colours,
They feature in the colour charts that were sent out to interested tackle shops. Number 10 changed from silver background to yellow background (commonly referred to as colour 11) just before they went to plastic. There are other colours out there, but as with many lure makers JJ did a few tester patterns and colours, hopefully a few more might surface soon ! |
